XPS 15 9530 - Microphone and display

Hi,

(Sorry about my english) i have 3 problems.

1. My xps cant find any microphone in my hardware. All driver are installed!

2. The Mousepad rest sometimes at the left side in the "click-position". Than i must wait since the Mousepad comes back, and this needs always at least 10seconds!

3. My display has a lot of more shiny points then the rest of the display... You can see what i mean on the photo. Thats a full, white colored powerpoint-site. Anmd thats not a sun-reflection or something else. Thats alway there.

Hi,

Thank you for reaching us.

I understood the 1st and the 3rd issue, Could you please elaborate the second issue with the touchpad please.

Regarding the microphone, Can you check if your laptop webcam works fine as well as the Webcam and microphone form a single component.

For the display issue, Lets run a hardware diagnostics to check if those spots are seen even outside the windows.

To enter diagnostics, Keep tapping F12 on the startup Dell logo that comes as soon you press the power button.

Select "Diagnostics" from the list, Run it completely and let us know if it passes, Else please reply with the Error message and validation code, we shall take it further.

Thank you

Hi,

The webcam works fine. I tested it also with making a video. I can watch the video but i cant hear nothing.

The diagnostic finished without problems. Seems all ok!

For the problem with the touchpad: Google says to me (from german to english ;-))

"The left mouse button is jammed every now and then."

It then takes a few minutes and then i can work normally... It seems like a long time pressed left mouse button.

The button is physikally locked in... Of corse it needs to be replaced. But that cant be the solution when this problem comes more and more.

I see the spots also in the diagnostic mode. And the external display are fine and without spots.

I dont made anything about the microphone. I looked at the drivers of the systems. They are all up to date and nothing is missing, so it seems, that the system doesn`t "see" any microphone. An external headset works fine.

Thnaks a lot,

.martin

Hi,

Thank you for the swift response.

If you feel the button is physically stuck or locked in, then it needs to be replaced.

Regarding the display, Did you see those white spots even in the diagnostics?  Is there a way you could connect a external monitor or a TV to this laptop to check if the display is fine?

What are the steps you've tried to fix the microphone issue?

Thank you
