volume control problem
i have tried to search for another thread but i ahve not found anything on this. i have a cheap laptop inspiron 1100. 2 weeks ago i i noticed something missing in my taskbar. the volume control was missing. and i dont know much about computers but i dont know nothing about them completely. so i go to my VOlume settings thing. and at first i thought this was going to be a piece of cake. the PLACE VOLUME ICON IN TASKBAR was unchecked. so i try to click on it. but then it gives me a problem box saying that i do not have the VOlume Control installed. so i got my dell cd already installed and installed the audio thing. and still nothing. does anyone what to do???
im thinking it might be a CMD problem but i have no idea. or was i supposed to have downloaded something else from the dell cd thing. this laptop has given me so many problems! someone help! thanks for reading :D

Use your search utility and see if you can find the file on your computer. It's name is
sndvol32.exe

The file may be missing. If it is, Microsoft has instructions on how to replace it, here
Or you could try using System Restore to go back to a time when you had the file,
Or you could try reinstalling the Windows operating system.
