There is, but to use it you must have windows 7 Pro, Ultimate or Enterprise.  You cannot use XP mode on any Starter, Basic or Home version of Windows 7.

If you have a Home or lower version you must purchase an upgrade to 7 Pro or Ultimate (first link).  Then use the second link to download XP Mode.

Hi warrencr,

Welcome to the Dell community.

Yes, ejn63 is right and you must have windows 7 Pro, Ultimate or Enterprise to be eligible to install Windows XP mode.

Virtual Windows XP is indeed a very good option to run all incompatible softwares in Windows 7, however, it is not available for all the versions of Windows 7.

Please use the link below to check if your system is eligible for downloading Windows XP mode or not. You just need to select your version of Windows 7 and it will give you a message if Windows XP virtual mode can be downloaded or not. Also, the same link will be used to download it.

The link is : http://bit.ly/lvAjC

Alternatively, you can also go through the link below to know more about Windows 7's Windows XP mode. This is a very helpful link and will give more information about Windows XP mode.

In case your version of Windows 7 is not eligible for Windows XP mode download, then, you can try and install the software in compatibility mode. Please use the link below to help you with compatibility mode :
