USB Port?

I have a Dell Inspiron 8600.  On the right side of the laptop near the back, there is a small panel that does not appear to be removable.  It has a USB symbol painted below the panel.  I thought the Inspiron 8600 only had 2 USB ports.  Here is a picture of the right side of the computer on the Dell site (http://www1.us.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/inspn_8600?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~page=2&~tab=viewstab).  You can barely see it in the image but its just to the right of the CD drive bay.  Can anyone tell me what this is?

I'm not exactly sure, but it might be included in one of the 2 manuals for your laptop.  In the  Reference section of Dell's Website, you can pull up all of the manuals for your laptop.  There is a service manual and the instruction manual.  I know for the 9100/XPS manual there is a detailed description of each part especially in the service manual.

The Latitude D800, Precision M60 and Inspiron 8500/ 8600 share the same basic chassis. On the Latitude and Workstation notebooks, there is a powered USB port where the plastic cover is on the i8500/ i8600. The Inspirons did not support this hence it was covered over. See the following page for more detail:
