usb device has malfunctioned and exceeded the power limits of its hub port

I have Inspiron 15 R model dell laptop . but now its displaying message on screen as "usb device has malfunctioned and exceeded the power limits of its hub port" and whenever i try to connect pen drive to USB port , pen drive gets corrupted .. tell me what to do now ?? laptop is in warranty period ! will dell service fix this problem as it is in warranty period ..

Hi,

Welcome to the Community. Try uninstalling the USB root hubs. Click on start, right click on computer, click on properties, click on device manager, click on the symbol next to Universal Bus Controllers, right click on USB root hub and click on uninstall, you will see more than one USB root hub, uninstall all of them. Once uninstalled restart your computer, so windows reinstalls the driver, and then plug in the USB device.

I also recommend you update your Chipset and Dell System Software.
