The laptop cursor keeps freezing.

Although I have followed the procedures for correcting "Touchpad/notfunctional" problems posted on Dell website, my cursor keeps freezing after 5 to 10 minutes, forcing me to power-off and waiting for 5 minutes to power-up, only to have the cursor freezing again.

I am thoroughly confused by several different suggestions posted on the community forum, and am not sure what to do.

Are there any steps to correct the problem?
