spill on keyboard
i recently spilled a small amount of juice onto my insprion 2650 laptop. i noticed right after the spilled occured, when id start up my computer, before windows could load a black screan would come up and it would beep consistantly for about 10 seconds. i assumed that this meant that a key was stuck or something, so i took apart the keyboard just as dell.com told me to, and clean the spot where i spilled with alcohol. when i started my computer up again, the same beeping occured. after the 10 seconds or so, windows loads and my computer runs fine. no keys are sticking. is the beeping from the spill on the keys or is it something else?

There is no telling how the beeping originated. What matters is that you fixed the machine.

I actually did the exact thing (with Pepsi) over a year ago. Really damaged my laptop's keyboard (Inspiron 2650 as well) and now only an external keyboard works for a short while. Does anyone suggest paying to get this fixed, or would it be better to just look into buying a whole new laptop?
