SD Memory Card Slot

Just received a new Inspiron 9300 laptop that came with a SD Memory Card slot (Secure Digital I/O slot).  Does anyone know if my JVC MultiMediaCard (CU-MMC08U) is compatible with this?  I ask because I inserted the card and nothing happens.  Is a program suppose to pop up and read the card or does the pc assign a "removable storage drive letter to this"?  Please help.  Maybe I don't know how to use this.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am trying to use a SD Card, and it still won't read it.  The card works fine when used in a USB Card reader, but not when put into the Notebook slot.  Any other ideas?

Can you please specify the link from where you downloaded the Ricoh Driver?  I can't seem to find it online anywhere.  Thanks in advance!

Is your card reader working, yet?

I had the same troubles you are having, until I downloaded the drivers from the link that someone mentions in the postings above...

Here's what I did:   I cut and paste that address to my browser.  Next, I saved them to my computer in a file named "downloads folder", then, when prompted, I "open". You should see a list of 13 files.  Double-Click on the one labeled "Setup".  Then click on "Run" to install the drivers. Once the install process finishes, you will need to restart your computer.

THE ONLY TIME I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM IS WHEN I HAVE MY SD CARD IN THE SLOT WHEN RESTARTING...MY COMPUTER WON"T BOOT UP WITH A CARD IN THE SLOT!!!

ONCE THE COMPUTER IS BOOTED, INSERT THE CARD, AND YOU"RE READY TO GO!

...if you are doing all of those steps, (properly) then they should work for you, too.

Post your results to the Dell Forum.  I am sure it will work for you!
