SD Card reader - what speed?

I'm thinking to upgrade to the inspiron 6000 (or even the 9300) from my current 8600, which still works excellent and is in brand-new condition (more than a year old), mainly because the SD card reader.

However, I need to know the speed it reads the card. Now in my 8600 I have a SanDisk 5-in-1 card reader which works by plugging in the USB 2.0 and reads extremely fast. But at work I have a Compaq Presario Desktop PC with a Built-in card reader, which reads very slowly - probably the USB 1.1 speed.

So can you tell me how fast they read in the new Dells? is a 512 MB card copied in less than 60 seconds or does it take 4-5 minutes?

Thanks for your replies.

I just copied 160MB from a 512MB SD card in my i6000 and it took about 40 seconds.

If you want to have an integrated SD reader on your 8600, you can also buy a SD reader that fits in your PCMCIA slot, like this one:
