Problem with Inspiron 1545?
So I've had this laptop for just over a year. Uncle got it for me as a graduation present. Up until a few days ago it worked great, everything ran smoothly and whatnot. Suddenly my laptop takes forever to start up. It stays on one screen for 5 minutes or more and when it manages to get to the home screen it takes forever for all the icons and stuff to pop up and the whole computer just lags terribly. I'm not entirely sure what the problem is since I'm not computer savvy when it comes to these particular things. I'm hoping it's something not too serious and I can easily fix without spending too much money. I don't have much if any income so I don't have many options.

Power down the computer. Hold F12 at the Dell BIOs screen and run the diagnostics.
This might help diagnose whats wrong, if it is a hardware fault. Alternatively you may need to reinstall the Operating System. If it is Windows 7 follow the guide below.
If it is Windows Vista you will need the Vista OS DVD, if you don't have it you will need to request the backup DVD from Dell or get it from eBay or alternatively consider upgrading to Windows 7. As I have not found a legitimate place to download Vista (that still works)..

I've tried the F12 thing and I start the windows startup repair and it just takes forever but I'm trying it again and just letting it sit while I do something else. Does the fact that it goes really slow mean anything?
