PLEASE HELP........Dell Inspiron 1525

Hi Everyone -

I am hopeing that you can help me! I am new to the community and am not sure where to post my question too!

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop! It has been great up until my brother talked me into switching to windows xp. My laptop came with windows vista.

Since my brother did this, I lost my cd player drives and other parts of my computer that worked before and now dont!

Anyway - My brother in law then told me about windows 7 and how great it was! He gave me the disc and I downloaded it to my computer. I chose the option full install so that everything would be deleted from my computer and it would be brand new sort of speak!

Well that didnt happen. I now have both Windows xp and windows 7 on my computer and i keep getting a pop up saying i have very little recovery d left!!!!!

How can I wipe out my whole computer and install windows 7 only! I guess my quesiton is I dont know where to go to get rid of windows xp...

can someone PLEASE help me!!!

I also need to buy a few of my keys on my keyboard, they are sticking for some reason and I was told I can replace them!!! Where can i do this if you know..

Thank you so much for your time, i truely appreciate it!

Thanks and have a great night....... Annette

I suppose if you brother-in-law told you to jump off a bridge you'd do it too?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

In addition to what ieee488 stated...

How to Install Drivers in Microsoft® Windows® on Dell Systems

If you cannot find Windows 7 drivers, try using the Vista drivers in the compatibility mode.

Right click on the drivers file, left click properties, left click compatibility. Change the compatibility to Vista. Then right click on the drivers, left click run as administrator.
