one horizontal line on laptop screen

hi, ive had my inspiron 1545 since dec 2010, the dell support page tells me my warrenty is zero...... but since yesterday afternoon i've had a thin horizontal line appear approximately 1" above the task bar,it looks like the screen has been folded then opened up again. last night i ran the suggested diagnostics but to no avail.. can anyone supply a solution many thanks

I am Jamal M from Dell Social Media and Communities team

It would be better if you send me the details of the laptop using Private message, like Service tag [Can be found underneath the laptop, it’s a 7 Digit Alpha-Numeric Code ending with 1 It will be near the barcode]

If you have already run the diagnostics and the horizontal line appeared during the diagnostics it could be the LCD Screen going bad, but please let me know if you ran the diagnostics by pressing the “Fn and Power button" at the same time when the laptop was powered off.

Kindly revert for further clarifications .
