New laptop not recognizing password. Can't log on!
HELP! I got my new Dell Inspiron 14 notebook (model PP42L) with Windows 7 today. During the intial setup, I put in a new user name and password. I then shut the laptop off. When I went back to it later, the computer didn't recognize my password and now won't let me in. Of course I didn't set up a password reset disk, so that's not an option.

Try posting your question on the Software & Operating System Board for a better chance at getting an answer specific to your situation but I believe that you will have to contact Dell to get help with the password problem. (This is the Laptop Audio Board.)

I googled it, google took me here, the question was perfect, but the answer was a dead end. Back to google
