Mouse Wheel Controls Volume and I Can't Stop It!!!
So, i feel fairly technologically stupid posting a question about how to deal with my hardware issue... when the hardware in question is a mouse.
Currently, whenever I plug in a USB mouse to any port on my Dell Inspiron 1545, the mouse wheel controls the system volume. The little volume mixer on the system tray in the bottom right doesn't pop up, just the overlay thats built into the system.
I've tried the following (different USB port, different type of mouse, uninstalling/installing mouse drivers, restarting computer, restoring system to 1 week ago, turning on/off sticky keys...)
I don't run any programs that I know of that actually affect my mouse scrolling.... and I've attached a process list of everything running.
I work all day on a computer where I can scroll without problem, so when i come home for 2 hours each night to use this computer, and suddenly don't have a working mouse wheel, i cry inside. And outside. Any help would be WONDERFUL =)
