Monitors on VGA and DVI off of a docking station

Has anyone put two monitors, on a Dell Latitude D800 with a docking Station?
I have a friend that is doing  this same thing but his monitors are Dell also, my
monitors are NEC 17" flatpanels with vga connections only.
I purchased a DVI to VGA adapter to gain access to the second monitor but have had know luck
in getting it to work..
Do you have to enable the DVI port?
If so where do you find in you system configuration?
Will the D800 even drive two monitors?

I would suspect the D800 would drive 2 monitors off the dock.

I am assuming that this is the D/Port you are referring to, and the DVI port on that unit is for digital signals only, so the basic DVI-VGA "dongle" converter won't work.

You should be able to enable the DVI in the advanced display control panel (advanced button on the settings tab of the display properties, probably on a tab called "displays" [if it is an ATI driver]). My experience comes from an inspiron 8600.

Hopefully this sheds a little light on your question

Anybody??? I am trying to do the same thing, but I would like to know before going out and buying a Digital display as the DVI port on the back of the dock is digital only...

Thanks!
