Latitude Broken hinge L Bracket

Hi,

The LCD for that system is sold as a whole kit which includes the hinges.  Contact Dell Spare Parts department and they will tell you how much that kit is going to cost. 

By the way, don't worry about how to replace it.  That kit can be replaced by the customer without the need of a tech.  The kit will bring all the needed instructions and the tools.

Thats the problem Lord Epidemia: the WHOLE kit. I don't want to buy the whole kit. i just need the hinge.  Now if anyone had a dead monitor i could take one off of, that'd work for me.  Anyone?  Anyone?

Well...still...they can BOM DOWN the part to know what pieces form the kit.  Then they will tell you the exact part number for it.  After you get the part number, you can try to check on Spare Parts for availability.  Dell knows every part number for every kit the sell and replace.

Bom Down the parts? i dotn know what that is, but here's the deal.  Dell sells 2 parts and 2 parts only. The hinge cover (which i don't need) and the ENTIRE  LCD screen assembly.  They do not break it down any more than that.   i have been on the phone and online with both Spare Parts Div. and Tech Support and this is the story i'm getting from multiple sources.

 

Now if you still think they can give you specifically the part number for just that L piece, please find it out for me and i would be forever greatful, and you would be +1 in the karma department.

I sure could use some good karma about now.
In any case, here is information that should help.

1.Dell will not be able to sell you the individual hinge.
As you already know, all the LCD parts are considered a kit, and they cannot be sold by themselves.
No matter if you contact Dell Sales or Dell Spare Parts.

2.You best option would be EBAY or the web. YES, I said Ebay.
You will need to purchase a dead LCD for parts, or find someone selling the individual hinge.
Or, even better is to find a working LCD for a lot less then Dell Spare Parts is selling it for.
I searched google and straight away found an LCD you can purchase for 60.00$ and some others for under 30.00$.

I could not find the individual part number for the hinge.
I'm checking with some other people to see if they can provide the part number for me.
I will post anything I get back.

Answer:
Dell does not sell individual parts for LCD's.
Dell considers all LCD parts as a KIT, and you can only purchase the KIT from Dell.
To purchase the LCD KIT, contact Dell Spare Parts.
If you wish to try and purchase the LCD KIT cheaper, or try to find the individual parts, you should search http://www.google.com or Ebay.
The hinges seem to be part of the LCD top plastics.
