Latitude and external monitor

I have two Latitudes a D600 and a D620, both with the same external monitor problem. They both have Mobility Radeon 9000 adapters and have given no problems when attached via the docking station to a 17” Dell Monitor (1440x900). I have just acquired a larger Samsung LCD monitor capable of full HD (1920x1080), which works well with another brand laptop, but not with the two Dells. The screen is fuzzy, with shadowing of the fonts. Both Dells are able to support the 1920x1080 at 60hrz resolution. I have updated the adapter drivers. Any thoughts on a solution? I have tried to use the Samsung drivers rather than the generic driver for the monitor, but the laptop “forgets” it when I try to install it.

I would adjust the display settings on the two latitudes. Especially looking into Clear Type settings turn it on or off and see if it makes a difference.  It should make a difference as far as making the shadowing of fonts clearer.  I would also check DPI and if it isn't already change it to normal and see if that helps.

If the problems continue please reply back and let me know what type of video cables that you are using.

Thanks
