Latitude AC Adapter

Hello all,

I have just recently phoned Dell to buy a AC adapter for the Latitude D500 and they quoted me £39.95

I then called Upgrade Options who are a broker who deal with Dell, and they quoted me £65

Can anyone confirm if the AC adapters from Dell work? and if so are they really £39.95

Thank you,

Upgrade Options is more than likely a reseller who is marking up the price of the Dell power adapter. Buy a power adapter directly from Dell, designed specifically for the D500.

Gee, it sounds a bit suspicious. I'm almost convinced that Dell have been in the business many years, just as a conspiracy to sell you an ac adapter that doesn't work. And i'm sure the price for the ac adapter is going to cost anything except for the price they quoted you.

UPDATE!!

I had purchased the AC adapter unit from Dell, actualy cost £30.95 off the internet, with free P&P!

Not only did i recieve the item within 3 working days, but also the item i ordered (AC adapter) also came with a power cord included.

Therefore for £30.95 i have recieved the complete power supply for my D500, even better news is that this has solved my charging problem and my laptop is now portable again.

Thank you
