Hi Robert,

I understand your concern. This may be several possible reasons for this issue. You may check the status of the power button light and the system LED's in front of system. An image of system LED's is shown below:

You may also drain out the residual power by following steps below:

  • Power off your computer.
  • Remove the AC adaptor and battery of your computer.
  • Press and hold the power button of your computer for 10-15 seconds to drain out the residual power.
  • Release the power button.
  • Insert the battery in and connect the AC adaptor.
  • Then try powering on the computer.

Please check the status of light on AC adapter as well. Another step you may try is to use an alternate AC adapter and see if it makes any difference.

In case you suspect the issue to be the LCD of your computer, connect your computer with an external monitor and see if it works perfectly fine with it. Also, you may run a test on the LCD of your computer. For detailed steps, you may refer to the video: http://dell.to/R6XKBV

Please share the findings.

I followed your instructions and is still not working, same for external lcd.

I also took the RAM's out to and it beeps, 2-2-2

Should I try and reset the BIOS by taking the battery out from the main board?

I think my video card is KO!

Thanks
