Laptop Port(s) won't work
My laptop ports(I'm not quite sure what the technical term is, sadly. Its what you plug headphones, microphones, powerplugs, usbs, etc. into) are going dead. My mic and headphone ports appear to be fully gone, and my power one is going as I speak/type. I'd go to customer service, but my stickers with my service tag have been rubbed off. I'll provide any details necissary, but please, be quick about it. I know its not the hardware, because its all relatively new (within the 3 few months). My model is XPS 15z, and it is refurbished if that helps at all. Please be quick.

Alright, I've flashed the bios, and it does appeared to have worked. However, it will not charge due to it not being able to determine the ac power adapter. Help please?

Hi Non-Existent,
Updating the BIOS, Chipset and Notebook system software should fix the issue. The following link will help you download the necessary drivers;
http://dell.to/PrrlGs
Select the Model of the system that you are using and you should be able to see all the downloads available.
Please connect the Ac Adapter while updating the BIOS and do not use the system once the update is initiated and until the system restarts completely.
The drivers have to be installed in the same order as mentioned above and please restart the system after every driver installation. Reply to this post with the result and the exact model of the laptop for us to identify the issue and provide a faster resolution.
You may find the Service tag in the BIOS screen. Please make a note of it as it is very important for any interactions with Dell.
I hope this helps.
Please let us know in case of any queries.
Thanks and regards

Hi Non-Existent,
Thank you for keeping me posted on the status and glad to hear that USB port issue is fixed. I suggest that you check if a known good AC Adapter works on the system. This will help us in identifing if the AC Adapter or the Motherboard has gone bad.
Please let us know in case of any queries. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks and regards

That is the problem, I do not own or know anyone that owns a laptop with a similar power adapter. Is there another way to check?
