Inspiron 8000 Palm Rest Assembly
I have an Inspiron 8000, whose lower left click pad is broken (stuck down, doesn't spring back-my kid wacked it). Do I have to replace the entire Palm Rest Assembly to fix this problem? And if I do, do you buy the part through Dell or a third party reseller. Are there any repair shops that do this sort of thing in Washington DC or Annapolis, MD.
Thanks.

Hi,
They are not hard to take apart, it sounds like the blade spring had popped out. As there are service manuals you can download, any service shop can fix it. Your call as to where to buy parts.
