Inspiron 15 bios won't save changes

Hello All,

I hope that there is someone that can help me with this. I changed my Linux Distro from Fedora to Opensuse. While trying to change the distro, I was having a hard time getting the USB to appear in the bios, but when I did, I went back to the bios and checked to see if it would boot using Legacy (of course, it didn't work) and changed it back to UEFI. So now when I try to make any changes, save and exit, they go back to the settings that I had before. Defaulting the settings does not work, and I tried to flash the bios to a newer version (Since it is still an A03). If anyone can help me with this issue, please do. If anyone needs more information or troubleshooting ideas, then I am all ears.

On Dell laptops that use Insyde Software BIOS, a bug in the firmware was triggered by changes in the Linux kernel.   This bug results in inability to make changes in BIOS setup.

I just ran across your post, I am having the same problem after a new Ubuntu install (I was playing with Xen).   I don't know if the Xen install messed with the BIOS settings, or something more fundamental happened to the BIOS.   Does your laptop have Insyide Software BIOS?
