How to switch btwn INTEL and AMD 8730m gpu
Hello sir,
i want to know more about the switchable graphics technology in inspiron 15r-5521...as it consists of INTEL HD4000 and AMD HD8730M...im a frequent gamer and like to play modern games at medium/high settings...How could i know that whether the game is running in AMD or INTEL GPU ( maximum perfomance option )...and when i use DXDIAG run command it shows only INTEL DISPLAY...Is there any way to switch to discrete graphics ?
Thank you :emotion-1:

You use the graphics/catalyst control panel. As the AMD GPU has no physical connection to the display panel, ALL video data passes through the Intel GPU on its way to the display, by design - so it will always show as the primary display. The AMD GPU is a co-processor.

See above. Use the Catalyst control panel to choose which application runs with each GPU. You can use GPU-z to show which GPU is active at any given time.

Hi Ajay Chandran BS,
Here is the step by step guide to select the GPU for applications:
If you do not see the options listed above or have difficulty accessing these options, update the latest Catalyst Center Application. See the following links for appropriate drivers:
AMD Graphics Driver for AMD Radeon HD 7670M Graphics
AMD Graphics Driver for AMD Radeon HD 8730M Graphics
Hope this helps.
