How to know if my RAM is bad, or if it's the motherboard??

Ok, so I'm the guy that opened up this post: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/20012554

It was a motherboard issue, so I bought a new one. And the computer boots!!!

...but then it gives out four beeps, which seems to indicate that it can't read the RAM. :(

I managed to make it go past twice by rearranging the sticks, but I can't get it back again.

Is there a way to know if it's my RAM, or if the motherboard maybe came slightly damaged??

I was...so...close...

If there are two modules, try each one by itself in each slot until the problem recurs.  That should tell you which module is bad -- if one module tests bad in both sockets, you'll know it's the mainboard that's the problem.  The odds of two modules going bad at the same time are very low.
