How to know a Dell charger is original or duplicate?

Hello,

I did a quick search through our adapters but I didn't see that model number, 01XRN1.  But considering how many there are its probable I missed it.  If you do a google search under "dell 01RXN1" there are many sites that claim those to be Dell adapters.

If you can tell me which model number the adapter came with (they're sorted by model #s appropriate for particular laptops and motherboards), I can try to do a more refined search.

I got this with Dell Inspiron 15 3521 Laptop (3rd Gen PDC/ 4GB/ 500GB/ Ubuntu)

Real Dell adapters will work AND Charge the battery.

The Fake ones are a fire hazard.

Real ones look like the one below.  However this too can be faked.

The chinese shills get very very hot just before they burst into flames.

Non Dell adapters lack the Serial EEPROM chip so they will work but they will NOT CHARGE the battery if its good or not. 

Damage to the socket and or motherboard will mean that the laptop will complain that the adapter is not recognized.  This can be the adapter or the motherboard aka the power socket.
