Hard Drive Adapters?

I have a latitude that is on the fritz. The hard drive is fine (popped in another machine). I noticed that windows generated some log files of the error. I need to get at those files (don't have the other machine any longer) so I need an alternate means of getting the hard drive (DSJA-220) connected to another box. The problem is that all the adapters for 2.5" drives are meant for a larger pin type than the model that I have. Does anyone have any ideas how I can get an adapter that fits this model or some kind of enclosure that would do the trick? Very frustrated by this impediment. Thanks.

Try this : http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat_id=906&sku=17705. All laptop drives have the same connection. However, different models of different laptops will frequently have some sort of adapter that attaches to the pins to convert the drive for a specific laptop. The C-series and D-series Latitudes use an adapter that has a wide flat end with gold-colored metal contacts that look similar to what you'd see on an SD or SmartMedia card. Pull straight out from the drive to remove the adapter - be careful or you could bend or even break the pins on the drive.

Once you've safely removed the adapter, simply plug in an adapter like the one I linked to, connect the IDE connection to your board and the power plug to an open power supply plug, and you should be able to format the drive and/or check it for errors with no problem!

Thanks so much for the response. I tried this but it appears that the drive is setup to be a master as it shuts down the desktop (no boot drives) when I tried to connect it. Any ideas?
