Graphics Card vs. Adapter

I recently saw a list of lead times for specific components in specific systems and saw references to an ATI graphics card and an ATI video adapter.  The lead times were different (the rest of the card/adapter info was identical, and they were both listed for the Dimension XPS), implying a difference in the cards.  Is this a typo, or is there a difference between a video card and a graphics adapter?

Thanks for any info!!

Thanks for the reply!!  I really appreciate your help.

That's kinda what I thought, but though I can find my way around computers fairly well, I'm not what I would call "in the know" about that kind of stuff.

you say toe-may-toe, i say toe-mat-o. different terms for the same thing. you see it all the time in computers. Ethernet/Network Card/NIC all mean the same thing. Memory Key, Keychain Drive all the same thing. I think its just a typo
