Fingerprint Reader Suite
Having problem with my fingerprint reader. Telling me "bad quality or too short". I used all fingers and nothing work. Any suggestions?

i have 2 laptops.
my wife has a m1530
I have a m1330
I asked her how the heck do you get the figerprint reader to read all the time. It may take me 5-8 tries to get it right, she gets it right 1 time every time.
This is what she told me " lick your finger then scan it "
I didnt see that in the manual, reinstalling the software per dell didnt help, but her method works every time.

My understanding, from other users on this Forum, is that having your finger slightly wet helps. I've also discovered that it works if you swipe your finger as if you were wiping something off onto the fingerprint reader (i.e., applying some pressure as you swipe).
BTW, for future reference, you might want to search the Forum before posting a new question. There are probably a dozen posts with these same suggestions.
