fingerprint reader application software
My vostro 3550 is n Series laptop there is no disk in laptop box please give me a link to download the dell vostro fingerprint reader application software

I have the same problem and Dell support team can't help me too. So I deside to help myself. Today I find solution.
You have only driver for biometric sensor (from Dell download center). But you also must have the software (that Dell team is forget to provide for customers).
You need to go http://www.validityinc.com/post.aspx?id=186 (site of manufacturer of our biometric sensor) and download the "Validity Sensor's Windows 7 Biometric Framework (WBF) software" (direct link: http://www.validityinc.com/news/wp-content/uploads/windows_wbf_tek_4_3_34_0_digital_persona_fma.zip)

After unzipping and installing WBF software go to the Control Panel and you'll find new control "Biometric devices". There you can register your fingerprint and configure entering in OS.
PS. I'm already using this software 6 monthes and sometimes (<5% of starts) Windows don't propose to pass by fingerprint, only password. But this is not a big problem as for me.
