Dreaded problem ... cracked 8200 lcd
Sigh, dropped my laptop for the first time since I got it almost a year ago, cracked the lcd across 2/3 of the screen.
Searched thru the various forums, but not getting a whole lot of details.. hoping someone can spread some light.
Info on the parts number it shipped with: i8200 1.8 gig
Quantity Part # Part Description
1 146CM Assembly, Cable, FLX, 15, SXGA+-UXGA, Lonsdale/Lavaca
1 1K855 Liquid Crystal Display, Ultra Extended Graphics Array, Standard Panels Working Group, BMV, 15, SHARP
1 4T176 Assembly, Base (Assembly or Group), Bottom, I8200, Compal, Conexant
1 5C494 Assembly, Bezel, Liquid Crystal Display, 15.0, LAVACA, Ultra Extended Graphics Array
1 7R002 Assembly, Cover, TOP, Liquid Crystal Display, 15, I8200, Inspiron
1 4U284 Card (Circuit), GRPHC, ATI, M9, 64MB, Comaneci
Is the 1K855 the panel itself? What exact part numbers are drop in interchangable with the panel itself? Would getting a different part number screen require the other parts too (cable/bezel/etc)?
What exactly are my options to replace this?
Can anyone recommend a reputable dealer who sells the panels (besides dell)?
Thanks for any comments, and hope you have a happier holiday than me!
