Does anyone know how much it will cost to repair my laptop?

I split about half a pint of water on my Inspiron 1525, took it to the computer services at uni and they said I needed to contact Dell as they couldn't do anything to fix it.  I've had a quick browse of some other posts and I get the impression if I call Dell they will tell me to send it to them to look at...

Just wondering if anyone has any idea how much all of this will cost? I don't want to end up paying more for a repair than it originally cost!
