Dispay problem

My DELL inpiration E1705 began to have crital errors starting up.  Error message: device driver stuck in indefinite loop indicating problem with device or device driver.  I have since loaded an updated friver for NVIDIA GoForce.  That did not solve the problem.  I then tryied updating the BIOS.  That did not help either. One file mentioned in the error message was NV4_dip The display screen now remains black when I turn on my laptop.  Only when I press control alt del twice do I get the computer to go to safe mode.  In safe mode the display lights up and sometimes with now problems, but most of the time the sceen flashed line bars in black or white or or abnormal shaped lines. What shall I try next?

The cause is most likely a faulty video card. To confirm: press F12 at powerup, boot to the Dell diagnostics and run the test on the video subsystem. An error such as a failure to read/write the video RAM means the video card needs to be replaced.
