disabling dell xps l501x subwoofer

can anyone tell me how i can disable my dell xps L501x jbl subwoofer because something has gone wrong with it and it makes a rumbling sound on the right side. i have tried all software ways to fix it but noting has changed and its getting really irritating can can anybody tell me any way to disable it so i can only use my left and right speakers only.

Welcome to the Community,

Try installing the Audio driver from the link below:

www.dell.com/.../DriverFileFormats

After installing the driver reboot you system and check the sound.If the issue persists open Realtek HD Audio Manager icon found in the Windows Control Panel,click on Speaker/Headphone,Speaker Setup  and see if it has an option to disable subwoofer.

hey hi...gunge..im facing the same problem with my laptop sound system now and mine is the same system tooo...how did u get this issue rectified?please do let me know..thanks in advance

Hi,
I had same problem... my sub woofer was cracking so loud..
Now there r only two ways..

1
Install proper driver from dell site
downloads.dell.com/.../R300326.exe
and do the settings as shown in below image..
please note you will get these settings only after installing the proper driver.




2. Open Ram cover (back side of laptop)
and remove the white pin as shown in image.
please note this setting will unplug your sub woofer permanently.
