Dell XPS 15 L521x AC Power Adapter Not Recognized / Stopped Working?
As of this evening, my Dell laptop has stopped recognizing all AC Power Adapters. I have three different Dell Adapters, two of them are rated properly for this laptop, and the third is an older model adapter that has worked to prevent battery drain, but which does not charge the battery.
The symptoms are very strange. I will plug in the adapter, wiggle it, and then the laptop recognizes it is plugged in for about 2 seconds. Then it stops recognizing the adapter and goes back to battery power. This happens both within Windows and inside the BIOS display also!!
During the day my laptop decided to restart for a windows update, and ever since it has not been able to detect the power adapter. I have been browsing the forums and have tried all the usual fixes:
1. My BIOS is the latest for this product (A16). I even tried down-grading the BIOS to A14 to no avail.
2. I have tried three different adapters, and attempted plugging all three of them in. The same situation occurs. If I wiggle the adapter for a second, it picks it up for a moment then stops detecting the adapter.
3. I plugged the adapters into many different outlets. Nothing solved the issue.
4. I have tried updating Windows to a higher version using a Windows anytime key upgrade, and this did nothing.
Any support would be welcome. I don't think the device is damaged as it has been sitting on my desk not moving for the past few weeks and was working brilliantly up until this evening. I did not move it, or have any strange power surges in my home that could have triggered a malfunction.
Thanks!

I feel like this isn't a new issue. No one has any suggestions?

My Dell started doing the exact same thing! Has been sitting on my desk, no unusual power surges, nothing with the power cord. The only other oddity I found is the computer goes back to battery after touching the touch pad; but I couldn't confirm it was that or just a timing thing. Plug the cord in, starts charging, I don't move anything, but after a few seconds, system goes to battery. Very strange and I can't find any other discussions or forums about this happening.
