Upon install of SP2, the XP-Pro no longer seen on boot splash,
(or SP-Home on other).
Have you installed Dell Chipsets and NSS from Dell?

Create a text file with Notepad with the following content:
[General]
Manufacturer=Dell
Model=Latitude
[Support Information]
Line1=For support with this system, visit
Line2=http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/
Line3=
Line4=Easy as Dell.
You can write anything you want after the = on each line, so you can have Manufacturer=My neighbor and Model=Too slow to be branded. Same for the numbered lines, you can add more if you want to, Line5= then Line6= and so on. They will work as long as the file doesn't exceed 64 kilobytes.
Save this text file as OEMINFO.INI in the system folder in Windows (same location as the logo file). Make sure it's saved as OEMINFO.INI and not OEMINFO.INI.txt, with the .txt being added automatically by Notepad and hidden, if your Windows Explorer is set to hide extensions for known file types.
This should be all. Good luck finding a suitable 96 by 96 pixel Dell logo. If you still have the Dell CDs, it won't hurt to search them for OEMLOGO.* or *.BMP and see if you find it somewhere.

Excellent "how-to" :)
I have a Dell Logo (Dell.ico) of 4.59Kb that is 32x32 pixels
(.33"x.33") (.85cm X .85cm) but I can't see a way to attach or post it here,
tell me how or give an Email and I'll do it.
The above icon was sent to me by Sandy Pardue of the old DellTalk Forum in 1999.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had posted the Dell Driver Link as he had reinstalled OS and WinXX does
not come with the Dell stuff on it.
Thought the icons and logos might have been included in the Dell NSS.
You can find all you need here : http://www.bay-wolf.com/downloads.htm
I just did it on my OS reload and it makes it look more OEM!
