Dell D620 Upgrade Questions
Hello all! This is my first post in the community and I want to thank you all in advance for helping me out here!!
I have a Dell Latitude D620 Notebook that recently had the dreaded "Disk Read Error" and it seems that I am going to have to replace my HDD. In addition, I would like to go ahead and make a few other upgrades but I have a few questions first.
I am looking at putting in the Hitachi Travelstar 7K500 which offers 500gb & 7200rpm which from what I have read seems like it would fit since its SATA, 2.5 & 9.5mm. I hope!!
With this HDD should I consider and additional upgrades such as RAM, etc? Any suggestions on the amount of RAM and a good brand that would fit in the Dell D620 without any problems?
Thanks again!!

The drive will work. If you're looking for guaranteed to work RAM, go with Crucial (www.crucial.com).

Thanks for your reply. Do you think that I would also need to upgrade the processor in the machine?

It's impossible to say without knowing what you have and what software you run. In general, notebook CPU upgrades are not cost-effective.
