cracked screen??
Hi,
I think i may have cracked my screen and was wondering if there was a way to replace it. (I have a Inspiron 1521) Everything on my computer works, but i think when i was picking up my laptop i put too much pressure on one part of the screen because from the right side about 4 inches in, there are vertical lines (a variety of colors) running from the top to the bottom of the screen. Is there anyway this can be fixed? i really do not want to have to buy a new laptop, especially since the harddrive and everything works fine, its just the screen. If anyone has an ideas please let me know.
Thanks!

If its a actual crack with a partial hole then there is no real fix. If it is rather shallow you can try some vaseline and use it as filler. You dont need much. It actually works for deep scratches but if its actually cracked it may not.

I dont feel an actual crack on the outside of the screen, though there is a clear line on the screen where it appears it would be cracked, but when i move my mouse under these vertical lines i can still see the mouse pointer.

It cannot be fixed, short of replacing the screen. A used panel will run about $200; new, $300-400.
