CHARGER MAKING NOISE

I have a Dell Studio which I purchased in Sept 2009. My battery is completely useless now and the charger does not charge the battery anymore. 7% battery is left and hence I always run my laptop on charging and it maintains that 7% battery. Recently my charger adapter has started making some electrical noises. Is that dangerous? Can this be harmful in any way? I just need to use my laptop for 2-3 months and then I'm getting a new one. So can I use it like this for a couple of months?

Hi Kashish92,

Welcome to the community.

As the AC adapter is making electrical noises we would not recommend to use the same. It may cause a electric shock which would be harmful.

You should consider replacing the AC adapter for the system. If you wish you to purchase the AC adapter kindly let us know the model number for the laptop.

I hope I was able to answer your query today.

Thanks and Regards
