Change graphics driver?

Hello everyone,

I've been getting into PC gaming but my computer seems to be a bit laggy when it comes to playing some games. One in particular is The Secret World. I played the beta and had a hard time seeing straight as it lagged too much. Could it be my Intel i5 driver being insufficient to run this particular game? All other games I have played: Amnesia on Steam, an MMORPG called Aion... Those work pretty smooth. It's just The Secret World that's laggy. I really want to play this game when it comes out officially but I can't enjoy the game if it lags tremendously. I wanted to post to see if I can get some input from people who've probably switched graphics drivers to play games on their pc.

As a note on The Secret World website their recommended video cards are nVidia 8800 series 512 VRAM or better/Radeon HD3850 512MB or better. For processor: 2.6 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo or equivalent AMD CPU. Scroll to bottom of the page to see the rest of the specs: http://www.thesecretworld.com/buy/

My pc specs are:

Windows 7 OS

Intel (R) Core(TM) i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHz

4.00 GB RAM

64 bit OS

PS. It seems my pc is underqualified to play this game already lmao

Hoping I can get some input in any way :)

Your Intel i5 is your processor not your graphics...

What graphics do you have, the Intel HD Graphics 3000, nVidea GT 525M, ATI HD6470, ATI HD7450M or ATI 7650M?

Run the System Requirements Lab on your computer for the games you want to run. e.g. here is Amnesia on my Desktop.

Oops sorry I forgot to put that it was a late night. I have Intel HD though I don't see a number just Intel HD Graphics Family when I go to Device Manager.

And thats a nifty site thanks for sharing ^^

It will be the Intel HD Graphics 3000 then, see what the scan says.

Did the scan. Said my video card fails. Everything is minimally okay to play the game but not exceptional.

Gaming on budget notebooks is usually not very good. If the Video Card fails the requirements then there is not much you can do with regards to playing the game on your system.

Yeah. I can run the game just it's sort of laggy but still playable at least. :) Thanks for your help so far. I really appreciate it. Also, have you heard of a free software called SwiftShader? Its supposed to "trick" your computer into running current pc games by using whatever available RAM you have to compensate for the video card. Just wondering if you've ever heard of it?

My friend did use a similar program before to play a game, I don't know if it was the same one or not...
