Cant login using fingerprint reader at windows startup
i own a dell vostro 3450 laptop with fingerprint reader. My problem is i'm not able to login to windows using fingerprint reader, the windows login screen its not even showing "Other credentials" button . And the fingerprint reader works fine to unlock windows but its not working only at startup. Please help me to solve this issue.
I bought my laptop on august 2011. So, its still under warranty period.

Note that I was able to download the DigitalPersonaFingerprintReader software version 5.20.230 from
https://smartsource.dell.com/

Hi,
I have the same problem with my Dell Vostro 3750 with Windows 7.
I had a notification from DigitalPersona telling me there is a software update available. I ran the update, but it didn't run properly so I ended up with no DigitalPersona software. I then downloaded "DigitalPersonaFingerprintReader" version 5.20.230 from "My Dell Downloads".
This is installed now and the Digitial Persona software lets me scan my fingers ok. It works fine for logging me into web sites, but I have no option to use the fingerprint to log onto Windows. This used to work fine before I ran the DigitalPersona update.
Does anybody know how to enable DigitalPersona to allow fingerprint authentication on Windows logon?
Thanks,
John

Dell Vostro 3750 - same problem - Windows 7 64bit - I ran update, failed, had to download s/w from https://smartsource.dell.com and it works, but not for logging into Windows .... - obviously where it's being used most.
