Can You Speak to Dell Through This Site?
Apologies - I'm new to this site although I do have some threads. Is this site supported by a community of volunteers who try and help with problems or are there any actual Dell representatives who help? I am having trouble installing a driver on a laptop that I purchased because Dell says it has been certified for Windows 10. I have had some suggestions on my specific thread but I need support from Dell - is there a specific site where Dell actually help you rather than other users? Dell must know how the drivers on their web site are installed - I think I need at this stage, if possible, to speak to them directly. Many thanks.

I have a thread called Win10 Wifi on Vostro 2520 Anyone? where I was getting help but all has gone quiet. What would you recommend I do re getting help installing a Dell driver?

If you want direct from Dell help, it's available by phone or chat from your computer -- however, if you post an exact description of the problem and the system model details, someone can likely help here - either a Dell rep or one of those of us who volunteer.

First would be to uninstall any network drivers already on the system. Then reboot -- there are two different drivers for that wireless card. One is for wifi, the other blutooth -- install the two drivers separately (rebooting between installs if prompted).

I like to suggest you disable the Anti-virus software and firewall before attempting to download the drivers from the Dell site. You should also check to see if Airplane mode is off as well.

When the laptop reboots windows puts it's own drivers back. If I undelete again and reboot in safe mode windows again puts drivers back in.

How about the firewall ? If you haven't, type Firewall in the Cortana bar.

I'm conscious of having two threads on the same subject - I was hoping my thread titled Win10 Wifi on Vostro 2520 Anyone? would give me the answer and this one was purely just the Dell Staff support issue. However, this is a virgin/clean install (I can easily go back via system restore) to the basic build. I have turned off the in-built windows firewall and still cannot install the 1704 wifi no matter what I try. Is there any possibility of getting Dell people who know how to install this driver to help me on the Win10 Wifi on Vostro 2520 Anyone? thread?

I've had a response on my main thread from Dell (DELL-Prajwal Sh) with some suggestions but now it has gone quiet. Is this what happens - how do I know 'what is happening'? Is somebody addressing/working on my issue or am I floating in hope? Again, apologies if this is not correct action - I'm new to Dell and Dell Support.

Did you install the Intel chipset driver BEFORE trying to install the wireless card/bluetooth driver?

Yes - clean install (again). Installed chipset drivers (win 10 autoinstalls it's own wifi and bt drivers). Uninstalled wifi and bt drivers via device manager then tried to install 1704 driver. Failed.
