Camera not working properly

Hello sir

I have dell inspiron 5559 i5 laptop. My camera was not working properly. The image was dark. Then i run a problem detecting teat so it showed  3 problems:

Edge detection test: WWCO9VN7

Luminance depth test: warning

RGB colour depth test: warning

How can this be resolved? Is it a hardware or software problem?

Hi AKANKSHA CHAND,

What is the current OS installed on the system? When did the issue start? Does the internal microphone work fine? Are you able to use sound recording? Is there any speck of dirt near the camera?

Is there any damage on the system? Does an external webcam work fine?

Test the camera functionality in Skype and the Windows Camera app on start screen.

Swivel the LCD and check if the camera works fine. If it works fine when swiveled, then the LCD bezel might be loose.

Restart the system and press f12 key on startup - choose diagnostics. Let it run the diags and if you encounter any errors - make a note of the complete error and report the same to us. These are onboard diagnostics and they might possible pick some error if the hardware is not functional.

If there is no warranty, then you could contact our team to get a quote for a paid service call - http://dell.to/1vnT6CQ
