Camera memory card

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how my camera memory card works in the laptop.  I can put the card in the computer but I don't know where to go from there?  As you can tell, I'm not very good with technology, do I have to buy software or something.

Any ideas, suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi rufwrld,

To use the memory card with your laptop you must have memory card slot in your laptop. See the images below; this is how the memory card slot looks like in your laptop:

If you have a smaller size SD card you might need an adapter which looks like the image below:

If you have the required hardware shown above you can use your camera memory card with your laptop. All you need to do is to insert the card into the slot and it will be detected by the system as a storage device. If there is any problem, please reply with the exact System Model Number of your Dell Laptop and the type of Card (SD Card or any other card) you are using.

Hi Rufwrld!

What type of memory card are you using?

What is your laptop model

What is your OS

What type of card is it ie MMC MicroSD

The system should detect the card as soon as you insert it and it will show in My Computer with a drive letter assigned to it ie E: or F: etc
