Adding a second screen to laptop - Inspiron N5010

Hi

Does my Inspiron N5010 support dual screening i.e. can I simply attach a second screen to the laptop, and use it as a second display, with my laptop screen as the primary display?

Many Thanks

Hi SimonBarnett,

You may connect an external display to either VGA port available at the back or HDMI port which is there to the left side of your computer.

Once the display is connected, press Windows + P and choose the option you wish to have on the external monitor (Computer only, Duplicate, Extend or Project only).

I have connected a second monitor and it works fine.  I want to connect a second keyboard and mouse to the notebook and close the PC case. My concern is that I am unable to close the notebook case without losing the signal to the second monitor. What must I do to be able to close the monitor and maintain the signal to the second monitor?
