X200 LSI firmware
Hello EMC community,
We have a couple X200 clusters. In trying to add a new node to an existing cluster, it doesn't add and don't see any reason why it wouldn't. Its exactly the same configuration: 400-0034-03.
Our cluster model is: X200-2U-Single-12GB-2x1GB-2x10GE SFP+-12TB.
The new node is slightly different: X200-2U-Single-6144MB-4x1GB-12TB (half the RAM and missing the 10Gb SFP card).
Under the isi firmware status - shows:
Existing: Lsi, DiskCtrl, 16.00.01.00
New: Lsi, DiskCtrl, 12.00.00.00
Not sure if the LSI controller firmware is why its not adding or its the memory?
I'm sure having different controller firmware isn't helping. On the Isilon X200 support page, it lists no drivers or firmware available, so I guess I could look on the LSI/Avago site?
Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you.
Best Regards, Brad

@bradhorne
X200 can only go up to OneFS 8.1.2.
try this ftp on Internet Explorer for new firmware.

Update: I looked on the LSI/Avago site for the LSI SAS2008 Firmware, no luck. It would need to be for OneFS (v7.0.2.9) so its not likely going to be listed with the others...

Hi,
Were you logged into the support site? The Isilon node firmware package 10.3.6 should be helpful. https://dell.to/3wLUrw3 You may also want to use this tool to see if it gives any other reasons it won’t join the cluster.

Hello Josh Cr, Thank you for responding.
I'm logged into the support site - please see this screenshot:
I tried the IOCA perl script and it listed a few issues which I'm checking into but it would be great to have the node firmware package (10.3.6) you mentioned.
Any idea why this wouldn't be showing up for download on my account?
Thanks again, Brad

Your account may not have the access level if the unit is out of warranty or not attached to the account. You may need to call phone support to get access to the file.

Thank you John Cr for the additional response.
I called support and they said I would either need to renew a full contract or pay for a one-time support fee to get the case resolved (be able to download the firmware).
I already have 9.0.1, I'll try that on the new node and see if that resolves it.

Hello PhilLam, Thank you for the ftp link! I downloaded the firmware and OneFS versions up to 8.1.2.
After running the IOCA check, it requested various patches, do you know if these included in the firmware or OneFS updates? I looked around the Isilon directory on the EMC ftp site and didn't see any patches... not sure if they are needed or not.
Thanks again, Brad
