How to update drive firmware from DSP
Please let me know how to update drive firmware from DSP(Drive Support Package).
Can I update the drive firmware at the same time in plural Node?
drive firmware update command : isi devices -a fwupdate -d
If I can update it at the same time in plural Node,
do you have any impact on performance?
Best Regards,

Hi,
I was confirmed for this matter to Isilon technical support.
It was that updating multiple drives at the same time may cause these drives to be unavailable at once thus causing a larger performance impact or even system unstable.
So, EMC would recommend upgrade drive firmware node by node.

Hello Taro-x,
There currently is no way to update all nodes in a cluster simultaneously. from the release notes:
Procedure
1. Run the isi devices command with the -a fwupdate option. The following command updates the drive firmware for all drives on node 1:
#isi devices -a fwupdate -d 1
**release note page 14**
You must run the command once for each node that requires a drive firmware update. Updating the drive firmware of a single drive takes approximately 15 seconds, depending on the drive model. OneFS updates drives sequentially.

current release software:
Please see the current release document for the latest firmware and OS versions to ensure you have the right package for your OneFS version.

Hi D_Tracy,
Thanks, I understood your answer.
But I want to know whether there is performance inmpact if I run the command(isi devices -a fwupdate) on each node in parallel.
Best Regards
