Adding X410 nodes to X400 cluster

Question

Hello folks, I have a 1 year old 10-node cluster that consists of X400 nodes. I want to add one node,  can i add one X410 node ? Thank you

to use an X410 node (or cluster) you need 7.1.1 But as far as I understand the node equivalency (node compatibility) feature is only applicable from 7.2 up.

7.1.1 is sufficient according to this http://www.emc.com/collateral/software/specification-sheet/h10639-isilon-x-series-ss.pdf.

My question is not code related but around the fact that i just need to add 1 node to a 10 node cluster. I want to understand if i can have ten x400 nodes and just one x410 node.

OneFS 7.2 Node Compatibility (Equivalency) - Isilon Info Hub does that help? But you have to use OneFS 7.2 I guess...

Correct, to use the node equivalency feature you need 7.2. This is the feature that allows you to put an X410 in the same pool as X400 (and the X410 needs to have compatible configuration). You can add X410's if you're running OneFS 7.1.1, you would have to create a new pool - so you would need a minimum of three X410's. With 7.2 you can add the equivalent X410 to your X400 node pool - this allows to add just one X410.
