PowerProtect Data Manager board?

Is this the board for PowerProtect questions? I'm transitioning from Backup Exec on a DR4100 to PPDM on a DD6400, so I'm trying to figure out the analogs (eg, does Self-Service Protection send backup data straight from the file host to the storage without being bottlenecked through the PPDM appliance?
