What happened to Dell Power Manager / MyDell > Power Manager Page is rubbish

The "Dell Power Manager" application recently disappeared from my Inspiron 15 5000  in March 2023

Hence I found the Power Manager section in MyDell but this is missing much of the functionality of its predecessor.

For example, the battery life extender which would allow me to control how much to charge the battery is missing. It had been set to 60% max charge but now I want to change that and have no way of doing that through MyDell. I own an Inspiron 15 5000 on AMD Ryzen 5

This page describes how Dell Power Manager application has been turned into a component of MyDell Application for Inspiron laptops

Attempting to re-install the original Dell Power Manager in link above results in this error...

Unless, you uninstall the "MyDell" application first. Doing that allows you to re-install the  Dell Power Manager Application and Voila!

This is a "solution" only in that you can workaround it by getting rid of MyDell completely but the issue with missing functionality in MyDell needs investigation by Dell.

Thanks for the info here.

Maybe a little off-topic since I use a Precision, but worth noting, my Dell Power Manager seems to have disappeared within the last number of weeks as well. I get a similar message about a newer version being installed when I attempt to reinstall is, however I don't even have MyDell installed, and cannot find any Power Manager functionality built into my Cell Precision Optimizer, Dell Command Update, or Dell Support Assist...which I found interesting. It's like the Power Manager program components may still exist on my machine, but no interface in which to access them.

Sounds like if I want access to Power Manager again at all, I'm going to have to install MyDell. Do you need to sign into MyDell in order to use it's features? If so, this could be problematic for me as my Dell's are running in a corporate environment and don't want to have to sign in to adjust features.

Edit: Found this article, and this installed completely successfully, but still no way to access the PM application or features. https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-ca/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=8678v
