RAM Upgrade on Inspiron 5459

Hi everyone!

I was just reading the docs from Dell's site and found out that my laptop is capable of 1600Mhz but I'm running 2pcs 4GB DDR3 800Mhz. Does it mean that I can replace it with 2pcs 8GB 1600Mhz RAMs?This is a screenshot I made from my laptop. This is for Slot #1 and Slot #2.This is a screenshot I made from my laptop. If you could give me compatible RAMs for this PC, it would be awesome! I can't find any resources on the internet. I was thinking of upgrading it to 16GB of RAM but not sure about the compatibility of the frequencies.

Thank you!

Hi, so does it mean that I only need 1pc 8GB 1600Mhz RAM? No need for another 1pc, right?

That CPU-Z information always throws people and you are not the first. That part number on your RAM indicates that it is indeed 1600 MHz RAM. This web page should help. You are running DDR RAM which means Double Data Rate. So you multiply 800 by 2x and you get...1600.

No, it means that your 2 x 4GB RAM are running at 1600 MHz. You will need to buy 2 x 8GB RAM if you want to upgrade. .
